Anti-Aging Peptide Therapy – The Top 12 Questions Answered
We often get asked about ways to boost growth hormone and what “antiaging” treatments we offer.
Lianhe Aigen are exported all over the world and different industries with quality first. Our belief is to provide our customers with more and better high value-added products. Let's create a better future together.
We have seen evidence that the answer is Sermorelin Peptide Therapy. For some, this may be a foreign term. Since there is value in understanding what Peptides are and the benefits of Sermorelin, we’ve taken the time to break it down for you.
Let’s start with the basics of what peptides are and then dive into the Top 10 questions that I often get pertaining to peptides and Sermorelin.
Peptides are made from amino acids and have many functions in the body. Peptides are chains of amino acids that improve cell signaling in the body. Most act like neurotransmitters, while some act like hormones. Many control and influence how our bodies react to diet and physical exercise.
As we age, human growth hormone production declines. After age 30, levels drop by over 1% each year. As a result, our bodies begin to show signs of aging, and cease to perform at an optimal level.
Because peptides have the ability to boost your body’s own natural growth hormone production, they are rapidly replacing traditional Human Growth Hormone therapy.
Little Fact For You: There are currently over 60 FDA approved peptides. In fact, insulin was the first peptide approved in the US.
1. What are peptides?
Peptides are chains of amino acids that improve cell signaling in the body. There are currently dozens of peptides approved for use in the U.S., Japan and Europe. In fact, insulin was the first peptide approved in the US.
2. What can peptides do for me?
Peptides have dozens of uses from cancer therapies, anemia, autoimmune disorders, diabetes and many other diseases. In my functional medicine practice, I use peptides to build muscle and reduce fat, improve energy, improve sexual function and to reduce GI and musculoskeletal inflammation. My most commonly prescribed peptide combinations function to naturally boost growth hormone for better recovery.
3. How are the peptides given?
Most peptides are injected on a daily basis, but there are a few that are taken orally.
4. What are some of your most commonly used peptides?
Sermorelin, Ipamorelin, and CJC-
These peptides all function in a similar manner to boost growth hormone production in your body. For our purposes here, we will mostly discuss Sermorelin as it is the most commonly used and studied. Human Growth Hormone (HGH) peaks at about age 20 and steadily declines as we age. Some people even use HGH as a powerful anti-aging tool. Unfortunately, HGH is extremely expensive and has significant risks with long-term use. As an alternative, we prefer peptide therapy with Growth Hormone Releasing Factors such as Sermorelin, CJC-, and Ipamorelin. These peptides can boost your own HGH levels helping to slow the process of aging so that you can live your best life. Peptides are not only much less expensive than HGH, but much safer as well. Sermorelin and similar peptides stimulate the production and release of HGH from your pituitary gland.
5. What can Sermorelin/CJC- do?
- Weight: can help to achieve and maintain a healthy body weight. When combined with exercise, improve lean muscle mass and help your body burn fat more efficiently.
- Sleep: can help restore a normal sleep cycle. Abnormal sleep can completely disrupt your life with poor mental function, fatigue, mood changes and abnormal weight gain.
- Athletic Recovery or Injury: have been shown to speed up and improve recovery from athletic performance or injury so that you can get back out there faster.
- Improved Stamina: increased exercise tolerance and less requirement for rest
- Surgical or injury healing: have even been shown to improve healing after surgery, especially with surgeries involving bone, ligament, tendon and muscle.
- Anti-Aging: can make skin appear firmer or tighter and improve muscle fullness for a more youthful appearance and lifestyle
6. How is Sermorelin or CJC- Used?
Sermorelin is administered by an injection under the skin with a tiny insulin needle once daily prior to bedtime. This helps to mimic the night time release of HGH that happens in young people. CJC- is injected daily on 5 days per week. Sermorelin and CJC- have the same mechanism of action but CJC- lasts longer and therefore does not have to be injected daily.
7. How will I Know It’s Working? How long does it take to work?
Typically, within a few weeks, you should see improved sleep and energy. Full effects such as decreased fat and improved muscle mass can take 3-6 months.
8. Do I Need To Take It Forever?
Initially, it needs to be injected every day, but can often be reduced as directed by your physician.
9. How Do I Get Started?
The starting place for any hormonal optimization or peptide program is a thorough evaluation including seeing a physician and blood draw to see if you are a candidate for therapy.
10. Is it safe?
Unlike illegal human growth hormone, Sermorelin is manufactured in the U.S., in FDA approved pharmacies. Be certain that your doctor thinks you are a good candidate for Sermorelin treatment and that it is manufactured in the U.S. at a FDA approved pharmacy. Sermorelin has been used safely for years to improve healing and recovery.
11. How Do Peptide Injections Encourage and Facilitate Weight Loss?
Sermorelin/CJC- are effective at helping patients lose weight. These peptides help induce weight loss because Human Growth Hormone stimulates the production of Insulin-like Growth Factor 1 (IGF-1). Higher levels of IGF-1 lead to higher levels of metabolism, which make it easier to lose weight more quickly when one controls calories. Higher levels of metabolism also provide the body with more energy and endurance for aerobic exercise.
Sermorelin/CJC- Therapy vs. Human Growth Hormone Therapy
So, if all of these medical issues are the result of Human Growth Hormone, why take Sermorelin/CJC- instead of HGH? One advantage of these peptides is that, unlike HGH, they do not suppress your own HGH production. They also greatly reduce the risk of overdose and side effects. HGH therapy gives long-lasting higher levels, which is how your own HGH production is suppressed and can lead to significant risks such as diabetes. These peptides do not have the same effect on blood sugar levels as HGH, eliminating the risk of high blood sugar and diabetes. Human Growth Hormone Overdose and Abuse has also been associated with the risk of joint and other bone problems and the development or advancement of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.
12. Who Should not take Sermorelin/CJC-?
If you have a prescription or are currently taking corticosteroids such as Prednisone or thyroid medication, please let your doctor know.
Those who have cancer should avoid using any medication or hormone therapy that encourages the production of Human Growth Hormone, as Human Growth Hormone can stimulate the growth of existing cancer cells.
Women that are pregnant should not take Sermorelin/CJC- or any Human Growth Hormone Therapy because they have never been studied for safety in pregnancy.
BPC-157
BPC or “Body Protective Compound” is a string of 15 amino acids forming a peptide. BPC-157 is the target of many research projects. Most of the research regarding BPC-157 is related to orthopedic injuries and surgeries or to inflammation of the GI tract. BPC has been shown to improve healing rates of muscles, tendons, bones, and ligaments following injury or surgery. BPC has also been used to treat inflammatory gastrointestinal disorders such as Crohn’s disease, ulcers, and irritable bowel syndrome. I have personally seen BPC-157 improve healing in ulcers, Crohn’s disease, fractures, tendon injuries, and many types of surgeries.

Semaglutide
Semaglutide is a peptide used for blood sugar control and weight loss. I have seen tremendous results with Semaglutide for helping patients lose weight. This is a once weekly injection. The most common side effect is nausea and there appears to be a very good safety profile for Semaglutide.
Peptide Clinics: Should I Consider One? - Lamkin Clinic
Peptides are all the rage right now. And it’s for a good reason. Even though it seems like peptide clinics appeared overnight, peptide injections have been in use to improve athletic performance, assist in weight loss, and even boost sexual stamina since the s!
Modern-day treatments have become even more effective due to
- new naturally sourced peptides,
- improvements in how peptides are delivered, and
- the effectiveness and longevity of peptide injections.
Many people think of peptides like they think of vitamins. They all get lumped into one general group. But, just like with vitamins, there are many different kinds of peptides, and they each have specific effects on the human body.
Moreover, peptides aren’t just for the aging or for athletes and bodybuilders. They can be useful for anyone who wants to experience optimal health and wellness. You might want to rethink peptide clinics now you know!
So – You Might Need Peptide Clinic Treatments if…
Well, first of all, let’s be clear what peptides are!
Peptides are strings of amino acids, which are the “building blocks” of proteins. Peptides occur naturally in your body, but as you age, your body’s natural production of essential amino acids decreases. That’s where laboratory-made peptides come in.
Among other things, peptides
- influence how your body responds to diet and physical exercise,
- affect your skin’s ability to tan, and
- support your immune responses.
How do you know if peptide therapy may benefit you?
- Do you have a high level of body fat?
- Are you suffering from anxiety and depression?
- Has your libido and sexual function bottomed out?
- Has fatigue become an unwanted bestie?
- Have you noticed that you have an increased sensitivity to heat and cold?
- Do you have less muscle and lean body mass?
- Has your strength, stamina, and ability to exercise without taking a rest decreased?
- Do you have reduced bone density and a greater risk of bone fracture?
- Are you battling the signs of aging and want to preserve supple, healthy skin?
- Are you overweight and finding no improvement using drugs like Phentermine?
If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, you should consider peptide clinics.
However, we wouldn’t suggest just any clinic. Not all peptide clinics use licensed medical professionals.
In addition, when you’re consider which clinic, remember your individual body composition and needs are unique, so not all peptides will be right for you.
For this reason, it’s best to work with a functional medicine doctor who can look at your overall health and customize a whole-body treatment plan that includes peptides.
Peptide Treatments Can…
Lab-made peptides are built to mimic some of the peptides naturally found in your body. They may be used in medications for conditions ranging from diabetes to multiple sclerosis.
Studies have found that peptide treatments can also:
- lower body fat
- increase lean muscle mass, stamina, and endurance
- enhance sexual performance
- protect your skin against UV light
- repair ligaments and tendons
- improve workout and recovery
- increase energy, strength, and stamina
- accelerate healing
- strengthen the immune system
- improve regulation of other hormones
- increase natural Human Growth Hormone (HGH) production
Peptide treatments involve injecting natural peptides into the body. Once absorbed, they increase your body’s natural production of hormones.
As an example, we’ll use HGH peptides to show how peptides can work on, and affect, your body.
1 Growth hormone deficiency (in adults) is a typical result of aging. If you have growth hormone deficiency, then you may notice a decline in energy, motivation, poor sleep, poor exercise tolerance, and increased body fat.
Getting daily injections of HGH peptides can therefore restore HGH levels and decrease (or even eliminate) the symptoms of growth hormone deficiency.
2 Another peptide called Sermorelin can boost your own HGH levels. This will help to slow the process of aging so you can live your best life. You can use it alongside other peptides as well as on its own.
In addition, Sermorelin tends to be much less expensive than HGH and physicians also deem it safer.
Sermorelin alone can:
- help you achieve and maintain a healthy body weight
- help restore your normal sleep cycle
- speed up and improve recovery from athletic performance or injury
- increase exercise tolerance, decreasing the requirement for rest
- improve your healing after surgery
- make your skin appear firmer or tighter
- improve muscle fullness
So imagine what can be accomplished when your peptide clinic provider uses it for you in the proper doses and combines it with other peptides or therapies!
What About GLP-1 Peptides That Are Hyped For Weight Loss?
The GLP-1 class of peptides is proving to be a breakthrough for weight loss. As we said up top, peptides are not just for older people or bodybuilders! This particular class has gained in popularity because they help lower A1C for those who struggle to lose weight and have Type 2 diabetes. Blood sugar levels are key to avoiding complications with diabetes.
In addition, they have a similar effect to injecting insulin. However, they bring with them only a minimal risk of hypoglycemia – another concern of diabetic treatments with insulin – while also helping with weight loss. They also help reduce risks to your heart and blood vessel build-ups of fatty deposits. What’s not to like?
The Cost of Therapy at Peptide Clinics
Peptide therapy costs depend on what peptides are used and the prescription. For example, therapies for low growth hormone are typically $150 to $600/month for some of the growth hormone-releasing peptides (such as Ipamorelin, Sermorelin, or Tesamorelin) and $ for HGH itself.
The range of these costs will be down to the prescribed dose as well as the dispensing pharmacy. Using growth hormone-releasing peptides like Sermorelin can be just as, or more, effective than their pricier counterpart, HGH. Growth hormone-releasing peptides also do not suppress your natural production but rather stimulate you to produce more on your own.
The most common peptides that we use in our practice are:
CJC- and Ipamorelin, which can naturally induce HGH production, with fewer side effects than synthetic HGH.
Sermorelin – the longest-used growth hormone-releasing peptide.
Tesamorelin – a very potent growth hormone-releasing peptide that can help increase energy and stamina, increase lean muscle, decrease visceral and adipose fat, lower inflammatory markers, and improve cognition.
Thymosin Alpha 1 – a fighter of acute and chronic infections and protector against oxidative stress.
Thymosin Beta 4, which plays an essential role in repairing damaged tissue and regenerating, remodeling, and protecting damaged or injured tissues.
BPC 157 – a body-protector that can speed tendon-to-bone healing and heal damaged ligaments; it also helps protect organs, prevent stomach ulcers, and decrease pain felt in damaged areas.
HGH – Human growth hormone
HCG peptides (Human chorionic gonadotropin) – an essential hormone during pregnancy; also beneficial in fertility treatments, weight-loss protocols, and helping men increase their natural testosterone production.
