Induction heating equipment is a commonly used heating method. After years of accumulation and refinement, it has permeated various industries. With the development of production and the application of new processes, the requirements for heating quality and process specifications of workpieces are becoming increasingly high. However, there are many types of induction heating equipment. How are they classified? What are their application fields and ranges? What are their characteristics?

Look at the frequency of the output

Generally, induction heating machine can be divided into 4 frequency bands based on the frequency level of the alternating current output by the equipment; they are: medium frequency (less than 20KHz), super audio frequency (20KHz~100KHz), high frequency (100KHz~250KHz), and ultra-high frequency (above 250KHz)

Mid-frequency induction heating equipment

Frequency range: Generally around 1KHZ to 15KHZ, with a typical value of around 8KHZ. Heating depth and thickness are approximately 3-10mm. Mostly used for heating, annealing, tempering, quenching, and surface hardening of large workpieces, large-diameter shafts, large-diameter thick-walled tubing, large-module gears, etc., as well as redrawing and forging of smaller-diameter bars.

High-frequency induction heating equipment

The frequency range of the high-frequency heating equipment series: commonly used 30KHZ to 80KHZ. Heating depth, thickness, about 1-2mm. Mostly used for deep heating of small workpieces, red forging, sintering, annealing, tempering, surface hardening, heating and welding of medium-diameter tubes, thermal assembly, and 淬火 of small gears, etc.

2. Uses IGBT power devices, higher equipment reliability, 100% load continuous rate, can operate continuously for 24 hours under maximum power;

Ultra-high frequency induction heating equipment

With the highest relative frequency, frequency range: generally above 200KHZ, can reach tens of MHZ. Heating depth, thickness minimum, about 0.1-1mm. Mostly used for quenching, welding of very small local parts or extremely thin bars, surface hardening of small workpieces, etc.
