IC buses are produced by IC Bus, a wholly owned subsidiary of International Motors (formerly Navistar International). IC buses are produced at International’s Tulsa Bus Plant in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

IC Bus was originally founded in as Ward Body Works, a bus manufacturer that filed for bankruptcy and rebranded as the American Transportation Corporation (AmTran) in . Navistar International acquired AmTran in and later changed the company name to International Truck and Bus in . In , Navistar again changed the company name to IC Corporation to separate its bus production from its International Trucks manufacturing division. And, in , the company name was changed for a final time to IC Bus.

IC Bus produces the Electric CE Series with two battery options that offer the longest single-charge range in the industry: a 210 kWh battery with a range of up to 135 miles and a 315 kWh battery with a range of more than 200 miles. The Electric CE Series is powered by a high-voltage lithium-ion NMC battery that can be charged using standard AC and DCFC chargers.
